I just wanted to share the beautiful news that our girl Hazel decided to join us swiftly and early this Monday evening (at 38 weeks!)
From my first contraction at 9:30pm to her delivery at 10:38pm (on my bedroom floor!!) she was a speedy gal who wanted to be out asap. Paramedics walked through our door just as Hugo was catching her! An unplanned homebirth was definitely not what we had on our bingo cards but it was the most empowering amazing experience for both Hugo and I. We ended up being transferred to Tweed Hospital and was discharged 12 hours later after all our checks came back happy and healthy.
So grateful for our health – couldn’t be more chalk and cheese to my birth with Darcy.
I firmly believe the class we did with you helped both Hugo and I find confidence leading up to our due date that my body knew when and how to birth her the way it was always intended, so I thank you so much for your support over these past couple of months.

Kate was a great teacher who is easy to feel connected with. She is warm and personable, and the content she taught was practical and realistic. Kate made herself super flexible to our schedule, even travelling to our house for a private home session and changing dates to accommodate us last minute! As second round birthers, we found lots of value in Kate’s class as she was able to tailor it to our needs/requests even as a couple who have experienced birth before. Thank you, Kate!
